We were invited to come up with a hat design for an exhibition exploring the relationship between hats and architecture. There were some beautiful one-off hand-made designs by young artists, architects and designers, all working to design a hat for London.
We came up with 'The London Zoo’
A hat for London inspired by the Lubetkin Penguin Pool at London Zoo.
There are over 7 million people in London all spiralling around the city, all going in different directions, all with different desires and needs. Sometimes they collide and meet, some of them will fall in love, some of them are destined only to pass each other from a distance and never meet again.
This city is full of these incidental and fleeting moments, we wanted to capture the complex intertwined lives that Londoners lead and create something that responded to the intertwined relationships we have with each other every day.
Because deep down, we are all just little penguins trying to find our way.
