The Bus Stop - A New Icon for London
Location: across the UK
What's wrong with the Bus Stop?
Well, it’s boring!
There’s nothing to do.
It’s a social void and yet they are everywhere cluttering the landscape of our cities.
We want bus stops to be exciting places to be.
Somewhere you like to spend time at.
Somewhere to do your make-up while you wait.
Somewhere to text or work on your online networking skills.
Why are bus stops so confusing?
Can’t we just have one giant super graphic telling me exactly which bus stop this is, which direction its heading and which buses stop here?!?
Why are all bus stops the same and why can’t we control the way they look?
Everyone hates the rain and the wind, but in the summer everyone loves a bit of sun and a breeze.
What about a set of retractable shelters, that can open and close like mini umbrellas, that spring out and give you a hug whenever you feel like you need one?
And why can’t you just press a button that signals to the bus driver that you want them to stop?
You can do it to get off a bus why not to get on one? Panic over.
Now that the route master and the red telephone boxes have all disappeared...
we need something else to put on those tourist postcards!
Why can’t the bus stop be a new icon for London?
